David Davis is the author of Waterman: The Life and Times of Duke Kahanamoku (University of Nebraska Press, 2015), selected as one of Hawai‘i’s 50 Essential Books by Honolulu Magazine.

Last year he released Wheels of Courage: How Paralyzed Veterans from World War II Invented Wheelchair Sports, Fought for Disability Rights, and Inspired a Nation (Center Street, 2020).
